Team ELM Summer Sessions are fast approaching! Don’t miss the opportunity for your child to experience our World Voyages Club and all it has to offer! Teaching children about world cultures is a wonderful way to help them appreciate the differences in people and traditions. It's a great way to let them realize that we are all different and that people from different countries have inherently unique histories, families, way of living, etc. Lots of problems can arise from misunderstandings, especially because we live in a multicultural world. By learning and understanding different cultures you understand why people do things the way they do. This facilitates understanding and prevents misunderstandings. Join us as we take our own virtual trips around the world! In this club we'll be learning all about India, Greece, Japan, South Africa, Ireland, France and so many more amazing places! This club will be doing crafts, designed around important landmarks or indigenous animals. We're also going to learn and sample the famous cuisines from each country! Creating art expands a child's ability to interact with the world around them, and provides a new set of skills for self-expression and communication. Not only does art help to develop the right side of the brain, it also cultivates important skills that benefit a child's development. Art encourages self-expression and creativity and can build confidence as well as a sense of individual identity. All kinds of art can affect our mood in a positive way, making us feel happier, calmer, or even inspired to do something. In this Summer Session children will be exploring art using acrylic, watercolor paint on different mediums such as canvas, and construction paper. Creating things like salt art, nature paintings, tie dye and much much more! This club will also be offered twice this summer!
